Cooked white beans are mixed with an aromatic spice blend and dried in the dehydrator into crispy snacks. The protein-rich beans develop a pleasantly crunchy texture during drying and absorb the spices intensively. An excellent on-the-go snack that provides protein and fibre.

Instructions

1

Preparation

20 minutes

Drain cooked beans well in a sieve and pat dry with kitchen paper. Allow beans to air dry on a clean cloth for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.

2

Seasoning

10 minutes

Mix all spices and olive oil in a large bowl. Add the dry beans and mix well until every bean is evenly coated with the spice mixture.

3

Dehydrating

10-14 hours

Spread seasoned beans in a single layer on the dehydrator trays. Set the dehydrator to 63 °C and dry for 10-14 hours. Every 3-4 hours, shake the beans on the trays to achieve an even result.

4

Finishing

20 minutes

Bean snacks are ready when they are completely hard and crispy with no remaining moisture. Allow to cool completely and store in airtight containers at room temperature for up to 4 weeks.

Pro Tip

Allow beans to dry completely before seasoning so that the spice mixture adheres better and drying is more efficient.
