A fiery BBQ sauce with roasted peppers and chili that adds a spicy depth to any grilled dish.

Ingredients(for 0.5 kg)

Roasted Red Peppers200 g
Tomato Paste120 g
Chipotle Chilies in Adobo Sauce60 g
Apple Cider Vinegar80 ml
Brown Sugar50 g
Worcestershire Sauce30 ml
Garlic (minced)20 g
Cayenne Pepper5 g

Instructions

Preparation

10 Minuten

Peel and deseed the roasted peppers, then roughly chop them. Finely chop the garlic.

Sautéing

5 Minuten

Sauté garlic in a pot with a little oil over medium heat for 2 minutes, then add tomato paste and roast for another 2 minutes.

Simmering

15 Minuten

Add peppers, chipotle chilies, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and cayenne pepper. Simmer everything over low heat for 15 minutes.

Blending and Seasoning

5 Minuten

Blend the sauce smooth with a hand blender, season with salt and pepper and thin with a little water to desired consistency if needed.

Pro Tip

Roast the peppers in the oven at 220°C until the skin blackens – this gives the sauce an intense smoky flavor.
