A fruity and fiery BBQ sauce combining tropical mango with the intense heat of habanero peppers.

Ingredients(for 0.5 kg)

Mango (ripe, diced)300 g
Habanero chilies (deseeded)2 Stück
Ketchup120 ml
Apple cider vinegar60 ml
Brown sugar50 g
Garlic cloves (minced)3 Stück
Worcestershire sauce20 ml
Salt5 g

Preparation

Peel, pit and roughly dice the mango. Halve the habanero chilies, remove seeds (wear gloves!) and roughly chop. Finely mince the garlic.

Cooking

5 Minuten

Sauté mango, habanero and garlic in a saucepan with a little oil over medium heat for 5 minutes until the mango softens.

Sauce Base

15 Minuten

Add ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes.

Blending and Seasoning

5 Minuten

Blend the sauce smooth with an immersion blender, season with salt and thin with a little water if needed to reach the desired consistency.

Pro Tip

For an even more intense fruity flavor, lightly caramelize the mango on the grill beforehand.
