Kansas City BBQ Sauce

A classic sweet and smoky BBQ sauce based on tomato with molasses and smoked paprika.

Tomato ketchup250 ml
Apple cider vinegar80 ml
Molasses60 ml
Brown sugar50 g
Smoked paprika10 g
Worcestershire sauce30 ml
Garlic powder5 g
Cayenne pepper2 g

Preparation
5 MinutenMeasure all ingredients into a medium saucepan and set aside.

5 MinutenAdd all ingredients to the saucepan and stir over medium heat until the sugar has completely dissolved.

Simmering
20 MinutenReduce heat and simmer the sauce on low for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.

Seasoning and Bottling
5 MinutenTaste and adjust seasoning if needed, then remove from heat, let cool to room temperature, and pour into bottles or jars.

For more depth, stir in a teaspoon of instant espresso powder – it greatly enhances the smoky notes.
