Crispy kale chips with a savory cheese flavor, gently dried in a dehydrator. The combination of nutritional yeast and spices creates an intense, cheese-like umami flavor. A healthy and crunchy snack for any time of day.

Ingredients(for 1 kg)

Kale (cleaned)1000 g
Nutritional yeast flakes80 g
Olive oil40 ml
Garlic powder10 g
Sea salt8 g
Sweet paprika powder8 g
Lemon juice20 ml

Instructions

Preparation

15 minutes

Wash kale and dry thoroughly. Tear leaves into bite-sized pieces from the thick stems and place in a large bowl.

Seasoning

10 minutes

Pour olive oil and lemon juice over the kale. Add nutritional yeast, garlic powder, paprika and sea salt and massage everything thoroughly with your hands until each leaf is evenly coated.

Dehydrating

6-8 hours

Spread kale leaves in a single layer on the dehydrator trays. Set the dehydrator to 52 °C and dry for 6–8 hours until the chips are completely crispy.

Cooling and Storage

15 minutes

Allow chips to cool completely before placing in airtight containers. Keeps at room temperature for up to 1 week.

Pro Tip

Kale must be completely dry before applying the spices so the chips become evenly crispy.
