Juicy shrimp are marinated in an aromatic garlic butter mixture and then hot smoked. The smoking gives them a delicate smoky note that harmonizes perfectly with the buttery garlic flavor. A simple yet impressive dish for seafood lovers.

Ingredients(for 1 kg)

Raw shrimp (shell-on)1000 g
Butter (melted)80 g
Garlic (pressed)20 g
Lemon juice30 ml
Sea salt12 g
Black pepper (ground)5 g
Fresh parsley (chopped)15 g

Instructions

Prepare marinade

Mix melted butter with pressed garlic, lemon juice, sea salt, pepper, and parsley. Wash shrimp, pat dry, and place in the marinade.

Marinating

30-60 min.

Marinate shrimp covered in the refrigerator. Then remove from the refrigerator and allow to acclimatize at room temperature for 15 minutes.

Smoking

20-30 min.

Preheat smoker to 110-120 °C. Arrange shrimp on the grate and smoke until a core temperature of 63-65 °C is reached and the shrimp are pink and slightly curled.

Serving

5 min.

Remove shrimp immediately from the grate and serve garnished with fresh parsley and lemon wedges. Serve remaining warm garlic butter as a dip.

Pro Tip

Use large tiger or jumbo shrimp (U15) for best results. Leave the shells on to retain moisture and smoke them directly on the grill grate or in a smoker basket.
