Cherry Cola BBQ Sauce with Cherries

Reduce Cola

Cook Cherries
10 MinutenAdd cherries and brown sugar to the reduced cola, stir and simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes until the cherries are soft.
Blend
5 MinutenBlend the cherry-cola mixture smooth with an immersion blender, then strain through a fine sieve for an especially smooth consistency.
Finish the Sauce
10 MinutenAdd ketchup, red wine vinegar, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper to the blended cherry mixture, stir well, and simmer on low heat for another 10 minutes.
Season and Bottle
