Pear Chips

Crispy pear chips are a light and natural snack created by evenly slicing and slowly dehydrating pears. With a pinch of cinnamon and ginger they become an aromatic treat. The thin slices dry particularly evenly and become pleasantly crispy.

Preparation
20 min.Wash pears and remove the core with an apple corer or knife. Slice evenly 3-4 mm thin with a mandoline. Add lemon juice to water and immediately place the pear slices in it.
Seasoning and Arranging
10 min.Remove pear slices from lemon water, drain briefly and pat lightly dry with paper towel. Lay out on dehydrator trays and dust evenly with cinnamon and ginger.
Dehydrating
8-10 hoursSet dehydrator to 60-65 °C. Dry the pear slices for 8-10 hours, turning once after 4 hours. The chips are ready when completely dry and slightly crispy.
Cooling and Storage
20 min.Allow pear chips to cool completely at room temperature as they become crispier while cooling. Store in an airtight jar or container.
Pro Tip
A mandoline slicer ensures uniformly thin slices that all finish drying at the same time.
