Beer BBQ Sauce Stout Malt

A deep, malty BBQ sauce based on stout with caramelized roasted notes and a slightly bitter finish.

Preparation
5 MinutenMeasure and prepare all ingredients. Preheat a medium saucepan over medium heat.
Building the Base
5 MinutenAdd ketchup, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce to the pot, stirring over heat until the sugar is fully dissolved.
Adding the Stout
3 MinutenStir in the stout beer and apple cider vinegar. Add smoked paprika, garlic powder and black pepper, mixing everything thoroughly.
Simmering
20 MinutenSimmer the sauce over low to medium heat for 20 minutes, stirring regularly, until the desired consistency is reached.
Bottling
10 MinutenRemove the finished sauce from heat, let cool for 10 minutes and pour into sterilized jars or bottles.
Pro Tip
Use an Imperial Stout for a more intense malt flavor and greater depth in the sauce.
