A tropical and fresh BBQ sauce with sweet pineapple and crisp jalapeño heat for a Caribbean grilling experience.

Pineapple (fresh, diced)300 g
Jalapeños (fresh, chopped)40 g
Ketchup100 ml
Lime juice (fresh)30 ml
Brown sugar40 g
White wine vinegar40 ml
Garlic cloves (pressed)2 Stück

Preparation

Peel the fresh pineapple, remove the core and cut into small cubes. Wash jalapeños, halve them and finely chop with or without seeds depending on desired heat.

Cooking

5 Minuten

Sauté pineapple, jalapeños and pressed garlic in a saucepan with a splash of oil over medium heat for 5 minutes until the pineapple lightly caramelizes.

Simmering

15 Minuten

Add ketchup, brown sugar, white wine vinegar and lime juice. Simmer over low heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Seasoning and Bottling

5 Minuten

Blend the sauce finely with an immersion blender. If desired, pass through a sieve for an extra smooth consistency, season to taste and fill into clean jars.

Pro Tip

For more depth, add a splash of dark rum – it perfectly enhances the tropical aroma.
